Clostridium difficile toxin was checked in fecal extract of 62 ulcerative colitis patients and 62 normal controls, by Elisa and cell culture methods. Clostridium difficile toxin was found in 48.71 percent of ulcerative colitis patients in their acute exacerbations, and in 26.08 percent of cases in their remissions.
